hen someone says meditation, the image of a person sitting alone on a mountain peak on a fancy deck in the woods, eyes closed, hands resting on the knees comes to mind.
At CPY, we don't just focus on the physical look of meditation, we dive deep into the action of meditation, offering a unique approach that sets us apart from other studios.
There is the physical look of meditation, the serene image of a person in a peaceful setting, and then there's the action of meditation, the practice of calming the mind, moving the body mindfully and focusing on the present moment. At CPY, we focus on the latter, helping you to understand and master the art of meditation.
Yoga therapy is meditation
Let's take a journey back in time. As we rewind, we find ourselves in the presence of ancient yogis, masters of their craft, dwelling in the forest's depths. One can't help but wonder what they endured to experience meditation in a jungle teeming with tigers, insects, and poisonous plants. They sat, and the wilderness moved around them; the work of sitting still and unprotected was dangerous and life-threatening, yet they sat in stillness.
Even masters have times when their bodies begin to ache. Often, meditation teachers say to sit with the pain. But for how long? Days, weeks, months, years? If there is a way to relieve the pain and allow one to sit longer with greater effectiveness of meditation, isn't that a better example of meditation?
At CPY, we teach the ancient yoga method of meditation, which involves movement and breathing.
We guide you to understand how these elements can not only enrich your meditation experience but also enhance its effectiveness.
Recently, a study was done on the current state of meditation, and they discovered that some people are experiencing challenges with their meditation practice creating increased states of anxiety. That's because they are sitting at work, sitting in their cars, sitting at home on the phone, and then sitting again to meditate. There is way too much sitting!
Yoga has the answer to deepening a meditation practice,
lessening anxiety, increasing energy levels, and enhancing mental clarity. Yoga is powerful, and CPY knows how to unleash that power for you. We are experienced meditation practitioners as well as experienced teachers. The combination of these two aspects creates a perfect space for you to learn how easy it is to reach the celebrated space of meditation that so many people are striving to achieve!
