Power Yoga is not what it used to be.
The name Power Yoga, in the past, was used to describe the method of yoga classes utilizing the classical 8 limbed practice of Ashtanga Yoga. The Power Yoga classes taught at CPY since 2001 used the technique of breath-by-breath movement followed by a tranquil mind.
However, today Power Yoga has become a common name for hot yoga or a workout style of yoga class. So, we removed the name Power Yoga from our schedule to eliminate any confusion about CPY's powerful and classical breath-by-breath yoga practice.
Nothing at CPY has changed except the name of the class. Our classes will tone and shape you as they always have. But we do it without a competitive edge, without weights, and without a gymnastics show.
Every class at CPY is beginner and prenatal friendly.
