BLOG DISCLAIMER-
To read this blog is to read with an open mind. I will not abuse my blog privileges and i will not use this as a space to complain about yucky people and places... as much as i would like to ;) However, this blog does and may have the potential to offend some as our practice of yoga is practical and is accessible to everyone except maybe for show offs, and know it all’s.

Do you have a grump-o-meter? If not you can get one at CPY. They are free and come with the purchase of any of our yoga sessions.

How to use the Grump-o-meter

Check in with your grump... is it at 100? 20? Dial it down.

How to dial down the grump:

Think. Think about everything you can be grateful for. Not just the easy stuff either. Check in the with tough ones, the ones you complain about.

The purpose of the meter is to find how high your grump is and to replace it with gratitude. It is a known and proven fact that one cannot be angry and grateful at the same time.

Enjoy!

All proceeds from the purchase of your grump-o-meter aids the angry yogi foundation- a foundation aiding in the removal of the angry yogi in us.
CPY has it’s own special ways, we are a different yoga studio. Here is how you walk into CPY.

Class times are listed... clearly... on the website, brochure and at the studio. But there is a little secret. They start 9 minutes late.

Why? To be honest from our very first yoga class on a Thursday night.. 1/2 the class came at 6:30pm and as we were hanging out getting to know these cool students around 6:39 the other half of class entered the studio. So every class since then has started 9 minutes late. So no need to rush and bust to yoga class.

we have a saying come on in even if the door is closed.

So we start late.. we aren’t gonna freak out if you are late to yoga class. But there is a way to enter a class when you are late.

The appropriate way to enter the studio when late- take your shoes off, walk in and set up wherever there is space. We always have room for late bees. At CPY we give you the space to be the person you are even if that includes perpetually late. ;)

CPY loves to teach yoga, we love to make people smile and yes we do like to like to help you work. If you are in a grumpy mood that is ok... we can deal with that, but only if you are willing to notice you are a grump that day and rest frequently. It is not ok to force or push in our classes. That is not the purpose of our space. It is ok to be sad, mad or even frustrated... as long as you know not to blame others, not even yourself for that. Eventually, like all things in life these negative things pass. If you are willing to sit through it we will be able to help you.

Most of all our teachers will help you while you are at our studio. This is a hands on practice. We will not correct you- we leave the corrections to the appropriate officials- correctional officers. But we will help guide you an align your body in a way that you may not have been able to do on your own.

Yoga poses are meant to be learned in a group. They are not really designed to be done alone. You learn more in a group and the body gives more when you are surrounded by others. The other aspects of practice- the tools learned in class- the use of them is for you to use on your own.

Don’t be confused that the journey of yoga is a solitary effort... it is not - that would be impossible. It takes a mass of people working towards similar goals for any change to take place within us. CPY is a great place to begin this process and to continue it for your whole long life!

Love- T
There is a yoga etiquette to walking into any yoga studio...and not just ours. Look the people behind the desks are probably not a 7$ an hour employee they are more than likely your teacher. You may not wanna upset your teacher before a yoga class as they will kick your asana during it. ;)

Just sayin...
